Guadalajara City Guide
Guadalajara is a large city with an abundance of food and art to explore. With only three and a half days to explore this vast city, strategy was key to being able to immerse myself as well as make sure all could be checked off the list. Because unlike Mexico City; where it is easy to get around on foot or take a short ride from a to b, Guadalajara requires true planning as this city is spread out! The focus was on Colonia Americana, Zapopan, Guadalajara’s Historic District and the Pueblo Magico known as Tlaquepaque.
EAT
The beauty about traveling to a new city is stumbling upon shops you wouldn’t have thought to visit. Such was the case during this trip! I managed to discover a beautiful cafe/boutique owned by two sisters…one being the chef and one the boutique owner. L’Atelier Luna Cafe was a beautiful hybrid of delicious food and beautiful clothing. The second discovery was Mexa, a fun concept shop that upon entering, there was a nice array of clothing as well as plants and ceramics to shop. And what also seemed to be a fun pop-up to sell baked goods as well!
